The Studio at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre played host to The State's annual Hip Hop Dance extravaganza JAM PIECE 2016.
Jam Piece saw dancers of all ages battling in Allstyles and Breakin in front of international judges. The under 14s battles took place in the afternoon, with 1 vs 1 Allstyles and 3 vs 3 Breakin battles.
The State’s Youth Company Pick n Mix were there to represent for the first time, with performances from Leona Speedy and Flickstar, and an Allstyles battle entry from Relentliss.
SIN Cru (Noodle and Szymonster) performed their new Hip Hop Theatre piece Safety choreographed by the Junior SINStars.
Evil Eve of Battalion East (Germany) and Mars of The State (Edinburgh) went for a 5 round showcase battle. Props to the bgirls.
The judges showcase entertained us all, with performance from TrubL Roc, Bboy Buckingham, Sideshow Maule and Shelltoe Mel.
Kid Turf was the winner of the U14 Allstyles battles. Spitfire, Z and Trigger were the winners of the U14 Breakin battles. All the winners made off with bags of swag kindly donate by our sponsors (Pieute, Fables Supply Co, Ritchie Ruftone, BBoyLaces.com, Scotmid and SuperJam). Spot prizes were awarded by the judging panel for style, attitude and entertainment.
The evening battles were won by Sdido and Antonello Angry from Fresh Mod (Italy) and the Allstyles title was taken by Tesko from Dimestop (Glasgow). Who also made off with bags of swag and bananas of dopeness, awarded by our host Sparkles.
